Week 27
Comming of the to date biggest fish of the season on the last session last week. We were very exited to get this week going knowing that we are closer and closer to see bigger runs of fish making their way into the river.
The conditions was looking great both weather and river vise. Though with some heavy rain forcasted for the beginng of the week.
For the first part of this week we welcomed 10 new guests to our lodge. A group of family And friends from the UK that for the most part had never fished lakselv before. So heading out to the river for out "warm up" session the antisipation was high for the group. This antisipation was soon turned into joy for Paddy. He was swinging his full floating line and a big fish met his fly on the surface. After a hard fight Paddy finally would sse his fish being landed by his guide. The beautiful female salmon messured 100 cm and weighed 11.8 kg.

The next days the group fished very hard and a few fish was hooked but got the best of our guests. Especially Henry had to face defeat against a very big fish after a tough fight.
Mid week the group went home with unfulfilled dreams that hopefully will be met when they come back to visit us for a full week next time. A new smaller group replaced the previous guests and they came to a river that felt like it was Just about to reach its perfect condition. On the saturday Nadeem got to feel exactly that when he on one of our zone 2 beats hooked in to what would turn out to be his pesonal best atlantic salmon. The male fish took a big bright fly in the sunny weather. After an intese fight where the "buck" wouln't give in Nadeem could finally see his target fish in the net. A 99 cm 11kg salmon was the result.
11 kg fresh fish for Nadeem.
The day after it was Georges turn to try forces with a Lakselv monster. George beeing a seasoned angler with very big fish on his resumé had no doubt that this was one of them. From start to finish he fought the fish very hard and well and could at the end see the biggest Olderø salmon of the season glide into the guides net. A stunning male og 111 cm that draged the scale to 15.8 kg. What a fish to end the week and the first 15 kg + hat of the season was handed out to the happy angler. It looks like exiting times are ahead of us and looking forward to the upcomming weeks.
