Week 28.
The group from last week continued their hunt for big atlantic salmon this week. As last week ended on a high note we were hoping for more of the samr. And thats exactly what we would get. River conditions where spot on flowing in and arround 20 kubic meters pr. second and stedy tempreture at arround 10 degrees. With the start of our main run of fish really starting. This meant that it was only a matter of time before more fish would be landed in our guides nets.
Guide Mawill and Joe with one of his stunning fish from the week.
Joe and his dad Phil where here visiting us for the first and would be in for a real lakselv treat. On monday morning they where fishing in zone 1 and it did not take long for Joe to hook into a nice fish that he unfortunally lost. Not long after he would have another chance. This time the fish stayed on and turned out to be a really nice hen fish that weighed 8.6 kg.
In the afternoon it was George turn to again encounter some big fish. First he landed a 88 cm female and only a short stint of time after he landed his second one. This time it was a 100 cm 9.5 kg fish. What a afternoon for George and what a start to the week. Oliver had bin arround for all the fun without himself having none. That would change mid week and just hours before his flight out of Lakselv. Svinging his fly thrue an area that had bin very produktive and finally he would get his chance. The line tightened up and the battle could begin. Oliver a fishing guide himself would soon realize that he had gotten hold of a really big fish. After a short and intens fight he could see his biggest atlantic salmon being landed. An absolutly perfect female fish of 96 cm and 11.8 kg. What a way to end your first stay at Olderø.
Oliver with his beautiful fish from the last day of his stay.
The next days stayed stable and Joe stayed tuned in landing three more fish a 8 a 9.8 and to finish of another pesonal best of 11 kg. All fish was offcourse carefully handled and released back to their right place.
An awsome week with really great fishing and alot of salmon entering the river. Looking forward to see week will bring.
