Short recap 2025

The 2025 season at Olderø Fly Fishing Lodge was defined by a late start, cold water, and changing conditions throughout the summer. A long winter and heavy snowpack delayed the early salmon runs, making the first weeks technical and demanding fishing.

As water levels stabilized and temperatures slowly increased, the fishing improved steadily through July and August. Guests were rewarded with several quality salmon during the season, including multiple fish over the 100 cm mark and an incredible three salmon over 20 kg, along with an exciting late-season grilse run.

Compared to the unusually early seasons of previous years, 2025 felt more like a classic northern Norway salmon season — requiring patience, adaptability, and persistence. Despite challenging conditions at times, the season delivered memorable fishing, beautiful river conditions, and many great moments shared on the water.

Now we look ahead to the upcoming season with optimism and excitement, ready to welcome returning friends and new guests back to Olderø.
